Categorising, diving, structuring; the human brain seems to have of a binary approach and thus attributes stigmas. With the video-work 'Beschuit met muisjes' Liza and Hannah point out the limitations and complications of stereotyping.
During the proces of making this film, they transformed their living-room in Amsterdam into a filmset and invited their friends to participate in this performative experiment. The artists chose aesthetic characteristics inspired by social media, like short smart phone filmed imagery. They handed their friends several stigmatising scenarios to perform, such as the iconic kiss of Leo and Kate on the Titanic, or an all American gender reveal party.
